Hitting 1.6 million views on the first episode and the second episode released yesterday, What the Folks of Dice Media has eyes on from everyone.
The show outlines the journey of an Indian son-in-law in a more than amazing way. The show is a perfect blend of how an Indian family treats their son in law and how the families really are, all this while maintaining a superior humor quotient in the script.

The first episode shows how Nikhil, who comes to Mumbai and is forced to stay with his in laws, encounters the family and tries to get along with them with a little twists and turns. The cast includes Veer Rajwant Singh and Eisha Chopra playing the roles of Nikhil and Anita (the couple), Vipin Sharma and Deepika Amin being the in laws and Anula Navlekar playing Anita’s sister. the show is produced by Ashwin Suresh, Anirudh Pandita & Aditi Shrivastava.

To know the kingdom from the king himself, we bring to you Anirudh Pandita, the producer of the show. His answers would not only make you watch the show but a great love and respect for the whole team as well.

1. How did you envision the idea of portraying the story of an Indian son in law?

We have seen umpteen number of shows about the stereotypical daughter-in-law, so we thought that it would be interesting to put a twist on that and understand the experience of today’s modern Indian son-in-law. The show is essentially our attempt at providing the experience of being a young person in a family that you love deeply. You don’t always agree with your parents or the older generation. We all have experienced Nok-jhoks.We wanted to capture the various moments of love, laughter, joy, and occasional dysfunction that we all face on daily basis.

2. The first episode ended with the family’s car getting damaged. What would you say about the upcoming twists in the series?

There are plenty of twists and turns but all of them are believable. I had an old college friend of mine who wrote to me about facing the same situation as Nikhil when he damaged his father-in-law’s car. There is a lot of fun in the show and you’ll see that in the coming episodes. Nikhil has to also make interesting choices through the show and Anita’s parents have to also come to terms with the millennial mindset.

3. What is the USP of this show according to you?

The show is about today’s families. It is believable and real. That is the simple USP of this show.

4. Why do you think “what the folks” would be a different story on the platform of web series?

We make series with a distinct lens of telling stories that are firmly rooted in reality, have a broader reflective theme, explore the experience of living in today’s time, and finally are always accessible and relate-able.

5. Message to your audience.
