Today, more than ever, superhero movies are ruling every box office around the globe. Be it DC’s Wonder Woman or Marvel’s Avengers series, every movie buff is rushing out to book their tickets as soon as the movie hits the big screen. The new addition to this plethora of superhero movies being released is Marvel Cinematic Universe’s, Captain Marvel. Released on the International Women’s day to mark the female power of the universe and starring Oscar-winner Brie Larson, and the legendary Samuel L. Jackson, Captain Marvel traverses the story of the most powerful and enigmatic superhero in MCU.
In fact, Marvel also conducted a huge event in Singapore a few days before the movie’s release, which was graced by content creators, journalists, and writers from all over the Asia Pacific region. And among those invitees was none other than our own comedy content creator, Prajakta Koli or MostlySane, as millions of her fans know her by. The YouTuber got the chance of her life and interacted with the stars of the movie and the directors, Anna Boden, and Ryan Fleck. Apart from interacting with the cast and crew of the Captain Marvel movie, Prajakta also got a chance to watch exclusive 20-minutes footage of the film before the rest of the world. Now, isn’t that exciting!
It all started with Prajakta Koli’s tweet. A while back, she took to her social media handles and expressed her love for Marvel movies. She also tagged the Marvel India in her posts, following which she was approached from Marvel India to attend this event. She was the only Indian YouTuber to have been invited to this event, and she sure did make a video about the experience for her fans.
Meeting Captain Marvel and Nick Fury! #RealTalkTuesday by and with MostlySane
When in conversation with the star cast and directors of the movie, Prajakta gained some interesting insight, not on about the film but also about their thoughts as a person. Many will be shocked, if not surprised, to know that Samuel L. Jackson knows quite a lot about Indian movies and would like to try his hand in Bollywood. Brie Larson, on the other hand, has already explored a few places in India such as Mumbai, Kerala, and Hyderabad.
In her latest #RealTalkTuesday video, which she posted on her YouTube handle 5th of March, Prajakta narrates her entire journey from getting invited by Marvel India for the event to watching the exclusive footage of the movie before its release and meeting the fabulous ‘Captain Marvel’ star cast. On a surprise note, Prajakta also held a special screening of the movie in Mumbai and Delhi for her fans, 2 days prior to the film’s release.
However, this is not the first time Prajakta has made India proud and known to the outside world. She also represented India at the UN’s campaign for YouTube’s Creator for Change program on the occasion of International Tolerance Day for her song, ‘No Offence’, which released in November 2018.
Other YouTubers who were also invited to attend various Hollywood events
Last year, Ajey Nagar aka Carryminati of the YouTube family met Tom Cruise, while he was in Paris to promote his film Mission Impossible 6. Ajey interacted with Tom Cruise for quite a sometime and discussed Cruise’s journey as an actor and experience of working in all six parts of the franchise.
Even Ashish Chanchlani met with the star cast of the movie ‘Avengers Infinity War’ – Benedict Cumberbatch, Robert Downey Jr., and the director, Joe Russo.
With so many India content creators making their mark in the world of entertainment, not just in India but all across the globe, the name of India on the online platform is in safe hands.
