Just like any other child, she also had a dream, a dream to mesmerize the world with her voice but the destiny had planned something else for her. Her dream was to become a radio jockey but it turns out that she was destined to be a YouTube sensation impacting a multitude of people. Yes, we are talking about the girl who proved that Girls can outstand in every new field, Prajakta Koli, making the people insanely in love with her ‘Mostlysane’ channel. She serves as a model for the youth to believe in destiny, as she becomes the first Indian female youtuber to have more than 3.2 million subscribers in less than four years. The young millennial doesn’t settle here. She was also chosen one among ‘Forbes India 30 under 30’ 2019.
After joining 104 Fever radio station, fulfilling her childhood dream to become a Radio Jockey, Prajakta soon realized that it was not her cup of tea and wanted to quit. ‘One digital Entertainment’ came in as a ray of hope to nourish the nascent talent of Prajakta. She uploaded her first video on 12th of February 2015 on 5 types of singles on valentines, ever since then she hasn’t stopped entertaining her viewers. Her most viral videos include her music videos ‘No offense’ about social media bullying, grabbing more than 11 million views and ‘Shameless’ with 6 million views. Other popular videos on her channel are ‘thoughts of Desi people in America’, ‘Montu ka master plan’, ‘Girlfriend cooks for boyfriend’ and these are just a few to name of.
Her video’s go live thrice every week and her series include ‘Real Talk Tuesday’ talking about her take and thoughts on various topics. Every Thursday she uploads comedy sketches and #SawaalSaturday on Saturdays, answering a few questions asked by her viewers. Her Thursday videos are mostly observational comedies and improve. And the characters are inspired from her own family. But Prajakta what we really want to know is who is ‘Montu’ inspired from and is there anyone like ‘Montu’ in your real life?
This ingenious being has made collaborated videos with famous Bollywood artists such as Saif Ali Khan, Ayushman Khurana, Kajol Devgan, John Abraham, Manoj Bajpayee, Vicky Kaushal, Baadshah and Nawazuddin Siddique. and on the other hand, she has collaborated with fellow YouTubers such as Collins key, BB ki vines, BeYouNick, Ashish Chanachlani and other of her peers.
She was the only Indian to take part in ‘Creators for Change’ (an initiative by YouTube) and made the Musical video ‘No Offense’ speaking out about bullying on social media which was among the four videos shortlisted and screened at the UN headquarters, New York in 2018. She was also part of WhatsApp’s advertising campaign on forwarded messages.
