ZEE5’s Badnaam Gali’s trailer – Divyendu Sharma and Patralekha shine in a social comedy

A ZEE5 original, web feature film is all set to hit your system and mobile screens. Titled ‘Badnaam Gali’, this film features Patralekha and Divyendu Sharma in the lead. Making her debut on the big screen with ‘Citylights’, Patralekha has already won hearts by her undoubtedly brilliant work in the same. Divyendu Sharma, an excellent actor in both films (seen in Pyaar Ka Punchnama, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha and others) as well as digital platforms (Mirzapur, one mind-blowing series to remember) is on the way to add one more fantastic role to his name.

The film is a comedy with a beautiful social message. You should watch Badnaam Gali’s trailer as it gives us a glimpse of the storyline of the film. It shows a single pregnant woman, Patralekha, staying without her husband or any man, alone. She lives in a society where everyone questions her character and misjudges her lifestyle. Oh, the typical Indian Society. Divyendu, on the other hand, sets out of his home to find peace in the Capital, Delhi. He ends up taking residence at his aunt’s home who lives in the ‘Badnaam Lane’. This female, like most of the others, always keeps an eye on the society she stays in and keeps her nephew updated about the people and their whereabouts of the society. But as time passes by, Divyendu takes up the job of a mechanic and Patralekha tries to warm up to him and strike a friendship.

Eventually, he is caught between the two women. On one side, his aunt tries all possible ways to keep him away from Patralekha. On the other hand, Patralekha always tries really hard to be his friend.

Later, in the trailer, when Patralekha informs Divyendu that her boyfriend is not the father of the child she is holding, we see the concept of Surrogacy being introduced. At this point, it was like – What a beautiful concept ‘Badnaam Gali’ has come out with! Take a bow!

The feeling of becoming a mother is extremely amazing. But, seeing people misjudge your character just because you hold someone else’s child and staying silent requires a lot of courage. The movie will show and leave a strong impact on the audience helping them understand that “Surrogacy is not something to be ashamed of, it is something to be proud of”. How can becoming a mother lead to disgusting fame for any female? Why do people judge so easily?
