Richa, Mili, Jo, and Zahira, four girls stuck together with another for four years bring back the days of living in hostels and takes the viewers on a roller-coaster ride. The series is centered on these four main characters studying in SVM Dental College. Zahira Ali played by Parul Gulati is a senior student at the college who is high on fashion and slightly mean on comments. She was the vice-president of the college’s cultural committee who later became the president. Zahira is that girl in the college who is popular, smart, pretty, and witty and admired by girls and boys alike and is the ‘mean girl’ of the campus. Parul Gulati does justice to the character with her poise and soft-spoken yet firm voice.
Jo aka Anandi Joshi played by Srishti Srivastava is lone of the college campus. She is the tom-boy that every hostel has and the girl every guy is afraid of. Her guy-like dressing style and stern gaze with a strict voice makes Jo the perfect bully she is. Jo and Zahira have a long-standing rivalry due to a misunderstanding that happened in the past. Srishti Srivastava perfectly fits the shoes of the character by the way she walks, dresses, and talks, or more like gives commands.
Milli played by Simran Natekar is the bubbly, cheerful, and optimistic girl every person falls in love with. She brings the comic relief in the series with her one-liners and perfect on-time dialogue. Her simple and carefree attitude makes the highlight of the show, and personally, many of you would connect this character with yourself. And again, Simran Natekar essaying the role of Milli precisely hits the casting target right.
Richa played by Ahsaas Channa is our narrator. Viewers get to live the story of ‘Girls Hostel’ with the eyes of Richa who is the first year student at SVM Dental College and roommate and only friend of Milli. Seeing Richa in this show with her sweet and innocent voice is sure to relate with every student who ever stayed in the college hostel. Ahsaas Channa is beyond words with her on-point portrayal of Richa, who is first time living away from her parents and trying to live her life to the fullest.
Other Notable Characters of the Show
Ramya Mantri played by Shreya Mehta is the student of SVM Medical College and the biggest manipulative person you would ever cross your path with. She is the daughter of a known politician and bully of the medical college and is involved in a number of illegal and wrong activities that go around the hostel. Shreya Mehta fits perfectly in the shoes of Ramya Mantri and does justice to her character.
Hostel Warden played by Trupti Khamkar has all the possible rules laid down in the hostel to ensure that girls don’t go out and boys to enter. She is that funny yet strict-aunt that you have.
