Bhuvan Bam’s Journey from Famous YouTuber to Filmfare Award Winner
If you have talent and you are consistently working towards it, then one day you’ll be successful. It’s also possible that your success is bigger than what you can ever imagine. And that is what Bhuvan Bam has proved aptly. In the past 2-3 years, he gained a huge name and fame but no one has seen his hard work before being a YouTube star. Bhuvan who started on YouTube as a one-man army is now one of the most wanted stars in the Internet world. Last year he made his debut in the short film world with Plus Minus. The much-loved short film which also starred Divya Dutta playing an important role broke several records of popularity and won great appreciation. Even though the topic was totally different from what he is known for, the short film got more than 17m views.
Plot of the winning series – Plus Minus
Divya Dutta plays a woman who’s traveling in a train, planning to separate from her husband. During the train journey, she meets a soldier, Harbhajan Singh (Bhuvan Bam), who pacifies her and effectively makes her change her mind. However, the story doesn’t end there – when Dutta’s character tries to introduce her husband to the soldier, things get more curious. Having a light-hearted story with a supernatural element is quite an interesting cocktail and makes for a great audience. It is also interesting to see that the story writers went for a real-life incident rather than create something new. Divya Dutta does a good job of playing a gregarious, over the top Punjaban. This is Bhuvan Bam’s acting debut in a short film, and he does a decent job out of it.
Congratulations to Bhuvan Bam and the team of Plus Minus for Winning the award.
