The shortest month of the year but the web series train hasn’t stopped chugging! February will see some diverse range on content being doled out to the digital consumers. It also marks the web series debut of several Bollywood actors on the digital platform. In the backdrop of allegations that the recent TRAI regulations have made TV-content costlier, these web series will have brighter prospects of pulling out traditional TV audience to make the switch. Here is our list of series releasing this month:
1) Kehne Ko Humsafar Hain (ALT Balaji)
A clash of ambitions, ego, and love is the prime ingredient in the 2nd season of “Kehne Ko Humsafar Hain”. This series, starring bigwigs from the soap opera industry like Ronit Roy and Mona Singh, bears the true signs of Ekta Kapoor-esque series. The story follows a couple whose ambitions become the crossing point of their emotions towards their family, with hints of extramarital affairs and family issues as well. Read detailed coverage here.

2) Puncch Beat (ALT Balaji)
This high-school based series brought by Alt Balaji has its own share of love triangles, rivalries, and friendships set in Rosewood High. However, as clarified earlier, this is no ‘Student of the Year’. The trailer looks into interesting with the elements of action, romance, dance, and rivalry all embedded into it. The plot follows the story of two boxers, Ranbir and Rahat, a dancer, Divyanka, and a diva, Padmini, whose intertwined lives in Rosewood High see a fair amount of drama amidst a highly competitive environment. We got one of the stars of Puncch Beat, Kajol Tyagi, and you can read more about the show here.

3) Abhay (ZEE5)
The trailer of Abhay kicks off with a mention of an apparent high-profile child-kidnapping case assigned to a policeman who can cross any lines to get results on his case. Although the trailer is not exactly entirely comprehensive, the appearance of a machete and meat in the trailer promises a great deal of action in the series. Starring Kunal Kemmu in the lead role, the trailer appears to show a cat-and-mouse game between the kidnappers and the police. The first episode was released yesterday and you find a review of the same here.
Release Date: 7th February
4) Mom And Co. (Youtube)
With so many digital platforms already up, the Times Network has come up with its own platform ‘Zoom Studios’. The platform is coming up with an emotional roller coaster tale between a mom, who has sacrificed everything for her kid and the son who albeit happy in his life, seems to think his mom is not giving him space. Amidst the tussle and the mom’s need for acknowledgement, we see tidbits of motherly love and affection being portrayed. You can read more about the web series here.
Release Date: 1st February
5) The Final Call (ZEE5)
Mysterious from the start, the released trailers exude unraveled enigma. A pilot with a suicidal plan and a strange past somehow related to Jammu and Kashmir already intrigue one. Bollywood actor, Arjun Rampal marks his debut in web series with the titular role of the pilot helmed by him. The trailer of the web series tries to build upon intense shots and Arjun Rampal’s pre-flight smirks which raise more questions than it answers. It is needless to say that this Zee5 series is sure to keep us on tenterhooks. So fasten your seatbelts and buckle, ‘coz – it is gonna get bumpy!
Release Date: 22nd February
6) Dil He Toh Hai (ALT Balaji)
Karan Kundra and Yogita Bihani created magic last year, when their romantic offering showcased on AlTBalaji, won hearts of the audiences. The characters of Ritwik Noon and Palak played by the lead actors were well received and the chemistry between them was praised. Thus ALT Balaji is now all set to present the second season of the series. This was obvious given the fact that at the end of season one *SPOILER ALERT*, Ritwik and Palak, part ways. So when the season 2 trailer was dropped by Balaji, it came as no surprise! In fact, the first episode of season 2 has already released.
